I forgot to mention that last summer, I was running on the beach with my friend Deb in Lanikai and we passed by Noriyuki "Pat" Morita and his wife. I was talking to Deb last night and she reminded me of this fact.

I have one more day of freedom and it's back to the old grind. I am looking forward to going back, but like the students, I'll feel a little sadness.

So begins another year of holiday cheer, peace on earth, and goodwill toward men.

Wait a minute...
Woman, 73, says she was knocked down, stepped on during 'Black Friday' at Sawgrass Mills
"Black Friday," the traditional start of the holiday shopping season, began in South Florida early today with a 73-year-old woman being knocked down as a crowd at an electronics store rushed a metal security gate to get inside.

But it gets even better...

Shoppers Storm Stores; Officers Stop Fights

Orlando police officers were called to break up some fights between shoppers early Friday as Central Floridians flocked to stores for one of the busiest shopping days of the year, according to Local 6 News.Line jumpers at a Best Buy at the Fashion Square Mall apparently started a fight at around 11:30 p.m. Officers responded and there were no arrests.

When will people learn to act civil and courteous? I stayed home all day and laughed at the people running around in a shopping frenzy. I did feel sad for the people that got trampled on. THAT should not have happened. People should just give money and let everyone shop the day after Christmas and fight it out then. At least everyone will get what they really want.

Still thinking about my Thanksgiving Day buffet and how I wish I had enough room to eat more yesterday.

Noriyuki "Pat" Morita 1932-2005
He was one of the few, make that one of maybe two, Asian actors on television in the 70s. But he is best known for playing Mr. Miyagi. I think "Wax on, Wax off," is one of the movie catch phrases that will endure. Believe it or not, in 1994, he played opposite Academy Award winner Hilary Swank in The Next Karate Kid.

I am sooooooooo stuffed! Love the Hyatt! Why cook when you can go out, make a big pig out of yourself, and not have to clean-up after. I ate shrimp, sushi, and a Char-su duck salad. I then had turkey with cornbread stuffing and lots of gravy, and cranberry sauce. I then had a couple lamb chops, grilled salmon, mash potatoes, yams, and fresh blueberries, boysenberries, raspberries, and strawberries. I didn't have any vegetables so I figured fruit was good enough. I then had a slab of rare prime rib. Champagne was the beverage of choice. I rested while waiting for the rest of my party to finish eating.

Then it was on to dessert. I had pumpkin creme brulee, Charlotte cake (white cake with whipped cream center and drizzled with raspberry sauce), and a chocolate mousse parfait. I couldn't resist going back for a piece of pumpkin pie and black forest cake. I probably could have had one more dessert if I didn't have two big pieces of turkey, or could it have been those donuts I had this morning. Overall, it was a feast and a day to eat as much as I could.

I just woke up from a small nap and my only regret is there are no leftovers to pick at.

My district actually gave us the whole week off for Thanksgiving. So I just might post here everyday, or maybe not. I finished a pretty long week and it's nice to not have to go to work, you know...kind of like when I was substituting or going to school. Sometimes I miss those days. Especially when I'm dealing with someone else's kid who has a lot of baggage.

My school just got rid of a student and hopefully more will follow because I think it will just set the tone for the school..."If you continue to act like an asshole, you won't be going here anymore." After all, we're not a babysitting service. The more I spend time with the students, the more I am annoyed with adults. There are a lot of rude and discourteous people out there and it's only going to get worse, because their children learn from their actions.

I can't believe Thanksgiving is only a few days away. This week is going to go by fast and before you know it, I'll have to return to work. Not that I don't want to, but there's just those few students that ruin it for, not only myself, but for other students as well.

You know what's worse than a tailgater? A woman who drives too fast, tailgates, and has a child in the front seat.
