I think I'm just feeding off my student's want of not being at school. It also seems to be a concensus with some of the other teachers. They don't want to be there any more than I do...LOL! Some are just as disorganized as I am after coming back from the break. We have a three day weekend on the 14th, which I will not be taking work home with me. And two more three day weekends next month. The hard part will be the stretch between February and spring break in April.

I still have my Christmas tree up. I wonder how long it will last before it starts to dry up. Some houses still have their lights up. The tree keeps the house smelling good and I'm surprised the dog hasn't chewed on any of it. I do catch her smelling the branches. I think she likes it just as much as I do. Maybe it reminds her of being outdoors because she sleeps right next to it.

I'm glad it's Friday. Unfortunately, I have to bring some work home this weekend because I didn't get to it over the break. Some of my colleagues told me, "You're always correcting...just do what I do...put it in a pile." Which sounds like a great idea, but eventually, that pile will have to be corrected. I think I'll leave a little early today.

There's talk that we might go to a six class schedule next year. I'm a little mixed about it. On one hand, I wouldn't mind the shorter class time (50 minutes), which means I won't have to put up with some of the students very long. But then again, to have to see those problem students everyday would not be good. Why can't students be good always, be respectful, be courteous, without all the crappy attitude. I guess only in a dream world would this ever be. However, a private school teacher once told me that his school has little or no discipline problems because the school will not put up with it and the amount of money spent sending kids to the school. I guess that wouldn't be a bad environment to be in.
