POSTED: 7:08 pm PDT May 31, 2005 UPDATED: 9:01 pm PDT May 31, 2005 SAN DIEGO -- Puppies rescued from a washing machine last month are ready for a home, the Escondido Humane Society said Tuesday. Nicknamed "Suds" and "Soapy," the Humane Society said the puppies are lucky to be alive. They were found just before a laundromat customer was about to start washing clothes.
"It's a good thing she looked in the machine rather than just putting her clothes in there," said Staci Fitzgerald, Director of the Escondido Humane Society.The puppies will be ready for adoption next week.
