Murphy told members of the media at the City Administration Building that he was resigning.
"It seems clear to me the city needs a fresh start," said Murphy.
Murphy also said at the news conference, which was held at 10:15 a.m., that he would stay on until July 15.
"A good leader needs to know when it's time to move on," said Murphy.
Deluded is more like it. Who said he was a good leader? Not Time Magazine. A good leader should have conceded and let Donna Frye take over the mayorship. I think he's afraid of the internal investigation founding some of his darkest secrets. He could've left a martyr, but now he looks more like a criminal.
