Terri Schiavo, the severely brain-damaged woman who spent 15 years connected to a feeding tube in an epic legal and medical battle that went all the way to the White House and Congress, died Thursday, 13 days after the tube was removed. She was 41.

It's finally over. I can't believe that this story has taken over most of the local and national news. Is it possible that the conservative Republicans are trying to hide what is really important: the economy, social security, the war in Iraq and its casualities.

The decision was made between Terri and her husband. I think it's very selfish of her family to prolong her life when she was, by all accounts and medical diagnosis, SEVERELY BRAIN-DAMAGED. By keeping her alive, her family would only be satisfying some sadistical need to hold on. That is just plain selfish and self-serving.
